How do I even begin? It has been so long since I have done an update on Myla and so much has happened. This year has been full of doctor visits, co-pay's, drugs, test, more drugs and more tests.
Everyone has a different way of dealing with hard things. My way is just pretend it is not there. That works great until we take Myla to the Nephrologist (Kidney Doctor) and I always leave with a very heavy heart. It takes me 3 days to get back into emotion balance.
On that note, I thought Myla was doing so much better. Before we moved to Utah and switched doctors she would relapse 8-10 times a year. This year she has only relapsed 3 times. I thought great, she is doing so much better! Guess again. Her doctor wants to try a different medicine on her. We get to decide if we want to try this other medicine. The big side effects are "only cosmetic". The first one is swollen gums. Not bad right? Wrong! Her gums can swell so bad they cover her front teeth. Second, increased hair growth.... on her face. She could have swollen gums that cover her teeth and a hairy face.
The other option is to increase her current medicine. But that increases her risks of kidney damage.
I love choices like this!!
