Homemade Christmas

In an attempt to make Christmas a little more about Christ and not so much about things, we have decided to go homemade. Ok well a compromise for the older children is 50/50.

I have a couple ideas that I would like to make but I thought I would see if anyone wants to join me. An idea would be we could get together once a week or every other week to share ideas and make some presents.

Are you in???

Totally in!!! That was my goal for this Christmas too! I already have several ideas of what I want to make!
One of them being your cute play blanket ;)

I'm not crafty and I can't sew straight lines. Sounds Like I'd be perfect for this ;)

This must be the theme for the year. Katie and I have been sharing our homemade Christmas ideas. I hope it works out. Every year I try to have at least one homemade present for the kids and ALL of there cousins.

I'm in!

Why don't you start it by sending one e-mail to all those that want in. You make one of your ideas (or more) and take pictures of the process. Either by linking to your blog, or attatching pictures to the e-mail.

Then that group of people makes something and hits "REPLY ALL" as well as adds a few more names of people they think might want to join in. As long as everyone hits reply all, we could potentially have a huge honkin list of home made crafts via e-mail within the next few weeks if people participate.

At this juncture in my life, working on these types of things during the day is out of the question.... so getting together to "craft it out" with my friends just ain't gonna happen.

This sounds like an awesome idea, but I'll admit that I'm a little afraid to commit. I might do one of the projects with you, if that's okay? I'm trying to take things OFF my plate right now, not add to it, but I do know how rewarding crafting is. I love Christmas, love crafting, and love homemade. But I must say, I also LOVE the spirit of the holiday season and being out amongst shoppers drinking hot cocoa, looking at decorations, listening to Christmas music, and walking through the stores. I agree that Christmas should be about Christ and not "things," but there definitely is a special spirit around at that time of year!

I wish I weren't so far away so I could get together with you for this. What a wonderful idea!!

I'd be willing to travel a little ways too if it was in the evenings. I'm not sure I have too many ideas to share - but would definitely partake in those who have ideas to share! Keep me posted.
