Spring is here!

The birds are out, the sun is shinning (ok, for a few days) and spring is in the air. Last night my adopted sister (Nikki), Myla, Sariah, Eli, Scottsen and myself made bird treat pine cones. I think more peanut butter ended up on Nikki thanks to Sariah than on the pine cones but it was so much fun. All morning Myla has been watching the squirrels enjoying the bird treats and yelling for more squirrels and birds to come. It is so fun sharing projects with my kids I use to do when I was a little.

We did draw the line at eating the bird seed but the peanut butter was fair game.
Sariah helping!

land....

It has always been a dream of mine to live on a farm. Have land as far as the eye can see and not hear or see my neighbors. I want ducks, chickens (have them) goats, sheep, cows, horses, maybe a pig... Kirk use to rent a house and had five acres before I met him. He would go outside and call Paige and Dillon to come in and nothing would happen. So then he bought a blow horn, he would blow the horn and the kids would coming running. I can just imagine. So we have been looking at house with land this past week, why you ask? I do not know just for fun but now that is all I can think about. Hmmm.
So I just started reading this book. It is about a family that lived completely off the land or only bought food within 10 miles that they could not grow themselves. Sounds wonderful! I will let you know how it goes.

shhhhh

OK so in my spare time, yeah right! I have been writing a book. I'm about 65 pages in. I'm such an immediate gratification kind of person so this has been really hard for me. I also do not have great writing skills but it is something I would like to say I have done in my life. I'm not ready to say what is about yet but I'm hoping to finish it within the next few months. I'm not sure if it will ever get published but it has been fun!

Even a curl

Look there really is a little hair growing. If you look hard you can even seen the little curl in the back. I have always joked that we need to get her a baby wig but if she does not have hair by two yrs we are getting her one. I'm just kidding but it might be tempting!

Who made these rules????

Really who made the rules you can not have cookies for breakfast or dinner for that matter? They are made of whole wheat, they could almost pass as healthy....

I think Sariah would agree, don't you?

New bedding for the girls

Sariah and Myla are now both in toddler beds (yes even Sariah). We put her in the toddler bed to get her out of our bed and she loves it. So I thought I would make matching bedding for them. Next I'm going to make a valance, throw pillows and some wall art. We have lived in this house 4 years and I have never done much decorating in their room, I think it is about time!

With the nice weather this week the girls have LOVED playing outside. Since I was in sewing I was listening to them outside but not doing much watching. I have a really hard time letting them get dirty. I guess since they are girls??? Not sure but I think if I have a boy I will have to let that go. As you can see they had a blast and needed a bath really bad afterwards.

I think the princess dress adds a nice touch.

I think Myla had fun!!

Chocolate.......

Here are some little chocolate baby girls I was making all night for a baby shower tomorrow. I sure love molding chocolate or and candy making. It brings back lots of memories growing up.

I made 20 for the baby shower I am helping with tomorrow and 10 for my friend Nikki's baby shower she is going to.

Babies are so fun. It is sad that my little baby is already 13 months! It goes by so fast.

Oh Sisters!

I LOVE having two girls. They are the light of my life! I always wanted all boys or at least a boy first to be the "big" brother. Heavenly Father had a different plan for me and I think he was right. Don't get me wrong those that know my girls know that they are both dramatic and emotional like girls are but I just love them.

See it is so nice to see them sharing..... I honestly do not remember what they were sharing, Myla of course got something down from them to share.

Here they are wearing their shirts, "When all else fails, ask GRANDMA".
Myla is a total grandma's girl. So we took this pic for G-ma.

A great find!

So I like hot chocolate on occasion or hot cider but I'm not big on sugar drinks. I have been in search of a good hot drink to enjoy on those cold winter mornings. I use to drink Postum but they discontinued that a few years back. While on vacation, I happened to find a new drink called Pero. Add a little creamer and this is a great non-caffeine/non coffee drink! Hurray I have finally found one. Now I hope they do not discountinue this one!!

Winnemucca trip

Every Easter and 4th of July we head out to Winnemucca, NV. Winne is half way between California and Utah, in the middle of nowhere. Easter is always really cold, it normally snows. 4th of July is always REALLY hot since it is in the middle of the desert. Why, you ask, would we go to the middle of nowhere for the holidays...... Winnemucca has the best sand dunes ever! Since I was five years old I have been riding quads. Kirk has been riding his whole life too. Now, Winnie has become one of our favorites.

Kirk all suited up!!

These are just some of our quads, there were a total of 11 in all.

The kiddos dug a huge hole in the sand. They even dug stairs into it, and a tunel too. Sariah loved playing in the sand.

We even had an Easter egg hunt while we were there.

All 9 grandkids were there.
